DRESSED, R U? PT4

This is our fourth week dealing with the topic; “DRESSED, R U?” And the question is, what did “WE” do with the evidences; which was given to “US,” from our “LORD and SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST?” Up to this point, in our study! You see, our LORD knows that this topic on our “DRESS” is one that will challenge “ALL; of US” that’s why HE said: “Come now, {not tomorrow, but now} and let us reason together, saith the LORD…” ISAIAH 1:18. That’s right; “…the Saviour of all men…” would love to “reason,” with “US” right-now, if we’ll let HIM. Once “WE” come to HIM, HE will reason with “US,” from cause, to effect. WHY? Because the Bible tells us, our: “carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” ROMANS 8:7. In other words; only GOD can see clearly to reason with “US.” And the devil knows this; this is why the devil tempts “US” to take our clothes off, and to “DRESS” in a way that will please him and ourselves. But the Bible tells us, that once we take on this type of attitude we are walking in the foot-steps of Cain, who killed Abel; his brother. But you say that’s not true! Are you sure? The Bible tells us: “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning…” ROMANS 15:4. So what lesson can we learn from Cain? The Apostle John tells us: “For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that “WE” should love one another. Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. WHY? Because {Cain’s} own works were evil, and his brother's {Abel} righteous.” 1 JOHN 3:11, 12. It is here were “WE” begin to take on Cain’s attitude, when “WE” don’t “love one another” when it comes; to our “DRESS.” But, the Bible is filled with this type of example which says: “Let every “ONE of US” please [his] {or her} neighbour.” WHY? “For [his] good to edification.” ROMANS 15:2. But most of “US,” like Cain asks: “[Am] I my brother's keeper?” GENESIS 4:9. JESUS says; yes we are! How’s that; you asked? JESUS puts it this way, when HE said: “Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and [thy] mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” MATTHEW 19:18, 19. But you say; I’m not guilty of breaking any of the laws listed above. Is that so? It maybe because you were looking at the letter of the law, and not the spirit of the law! And if you did that, you are not alone. In the days of JESUS, HE also met some people who were only looking at the letter of the law, and HE told them that the law is much broader than what they could have seen, on the surface. How’s that, you asks? JESUS said: “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: “But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” MATTHEW 5:27, 28. This is another reason why women are being tempted by the devil to “DRESS” the way they do. Because the devil knows it’s not just the sexual act, but the sexual lust. But when some women are told that their “DRESS CODE” causes some men to “SIN” they say, that’s his business. Never once stopping to ask or think if they will also be guilty of committing a “SIN,” when a man “SIN” base on their “DRESS.” Will these women who violate the “DRESS CODE” standard be held accountable? YES! JESUS said so, when HE said: “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him [or her} that a millstone were hanged about his {or her} neck, and [that] he {or she} were drowned in the depth of the sea.” MATTHEW 18:6. But wait, there's good-new, GOD says to US: “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” EZEKIEL 36:26. Thanks GOD; that’s what we need! A new heart, and a new spirit!!!
