Fibroids found on the interior muscular wall or on the exterior of the uterus are benign growths. It could also involve the cervix. Fibroids are abnormal muscle cells.
For reasons not yet understood, they tend to form during the late thirties and early forties, and then they shrink after menopause. Most women have fibroids but are not detected until a routine pelvic examination is being given. In at least half of these cases, fibroid tumors cause no symptoms at all. However in some cases there are symptoms, like, abnormally heavy and frequent menstrual periods or infertility. Other symptoms may include anemia, bleeding between periods, fatigue and weakness as a result of loss of blood, increased vaginal discharge, and painful sexual intercourse or bleeding after intercourse. It can even exert pressure and cause pain upon the bowels or the bladder, or even block the urethra, producing kidney obstruction.
Recommendations:
· If you are having any such heavy bleeding that in an hour a pad or tampon is saturated you should see your health care provider.
· Do not take oral contraceptives with a high level of estrogen. It may stimulate the growth of the tumors. Consider other forms of contraceptives.
Considerations:
Try taking blackstrap molasses daily to supply the iron lost during heavy periods. The Floradix Iron is also very effective.
L-Arginine taken as recommended helps to retard the growth of tumors. L-lysine is needed to balance with arginine.
Maitake and or shitake are also great to strengthen the body and helps to inhibit tumor growth.
Vitamins A, C, and E, B complex, bioflavonoids, and essential fatty acids are all recommended for immune function and shrinking the tumor.
The herbs Primrose oil & vitex are useful.
