"This little light of mine I'm gonna let it shine
All around the neighborhoods I'm gonna let it shine.
Let it shine till Jesus comes, I'm gonna let it shine".
As I prayed about what to share with you this week, I felt impress to bring a conclusion, on the topic "A jar of honey". My guest had stayed with us one week, this became a time of soul searching. If Jesus would deal with us, as we often deal with one another, would any of us be saved?
An insurmountable amount of tension was built up, as a results of this young lady's extravagance. The carnal flesh was raging a war, with the Holy Spirit, and at times, it seemed self prevailed. The thought of not replenishing the milk, or bread, and putting away the honey, demonstrates a lack of faith, in what God can do. In Luke 9 we read how God fed five thousand men, with five loaves of bread, and two fishes. The real beauty in this parable to me, is found in verse 17. They were all full, and had fragments that remained. Praise God!
It is today's society, the work place, the church, and even our friends & family, that weaken our purpose to do right, and thus bring a stain upon our conscience.
We should strive everyday to improve, beautify, and ennoble the life of one, whom Christ has purchased with His precious blood. Let no low witticism escape our lips, and never allow our thoughts to run riot. Turn away from all that is cheap, and inferior. Only through an obedience to Christ, we may be restrained, and thus be pure and true.
So, our guest left, and the question was, did we represent Jesus, at all times. Perhaps there were moments of question, and cause to make certain, that we demonstrated a Christ like spirit. This is duty of the true child of God. Denying self, and being crucified through Christ, putting on the whole armour of God, so we would be able to stand against the tricks of the enemy.
As was mentioned, and I conclude with... Through the Holy Spirit, with a made up mind, we should not allow anything, (Not even a jar of honey), or anyone, to separate us from the Love of God, and a life with Him eternally. In heaven, there will be a river flowing with 'Milk' & 'Honey' Hallelujah! Amen
