THE CHURCH; SPIRITUAL or FUNKY? PT.1

The signs of the end are everywhere, and the question which needs to be asked is this, is “The Church; Spiritual or Funky?” But before we answer; let us ask the SPIRIT GOD to fall on us. AMEN! Now lets answer the question, “Spiritual or Funky; The Church?” If you said “Spiritual;” it means the Church is following JESUS, all the way. I believe the Church has gone “Funky.” Why? “The church has turned back from following Christ her leader, and is steadily retreating toward Egypt.” How’s that; you may ask? Well, there was a time when some of us in the Church, use to party at, The Banana Boat, The Cat and Fiddle, Four & A-Half, Pastiche, Zoo Night Club, King & Knights, Club 601, The Jokers Wild, The Dundas, and many others night spots. But, sad to say that the things that once only used to happen in those night spots are now taking place, in The Church! For the Church is Dancing, having Comedy shows, Rapping songs, Dramatizing the Gospel and Even Reggae. And while all this is taking place in the Church of The Living GOD; few are alarmed. Why? Spiritual power is lacking in their lives and the Spirit of God is leavening our churches everywhere. And Satan would have it thus. No-wander when we are asked to give a reason for what we believe as Christian we can’t. We are partying too much, forgetting or do-not know: “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” JEREMIAH 8:20. Then, there are some who say; I’m not the Pastor, so why do I need to know what the Bible says. We need to know because the Bible said: “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” 1 PETER 3:15. But you say do I really need to know? Yes! For the Bible said: “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 TIMOTHY 2:15. For example, do you know there are many Christians, even some Pastors, who don’t know that when we die we don’t go to heaven or hell, But In the grave? I don’t believe that, you-say! Well, would you believe JESUS, if HE told you? For when JESUS walked among men his friend Lazarus died, and JESUS said: “Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep” Did HE do-it? Yes! For the Bible said: “JESUS cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth…” not down from heaven but from the grave, amen. JOHN 11:11-44. But wait there’s more, for the Bible says: “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any [thing] that is done under the sun” This is why the Bible says: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might” Why? “For [there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” ECCLESIASTES 9:5-10. “So man lieth down, {says Job} and riseth not: till the heavens [be] no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.” JOB 14:12. But did not the Bible say: “absent from the body, present with the Lord.” NO! It said: “We are confident, [I say], and “willing rather” to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 CORINTHIANS 5:8. Did you know that Man and Dog have the same breath? No-way, you say! Well; lets read it: “For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no prestige above a beast: for all [is] vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.” Amen! ECCLESIASTES 3:19, 20. So let us continue study our Bible today!
