THE CHURCH; SPIRITUAL or FUNKY? PT.1

As we continue to look at the question, “The Church; Spiritual or Funky?” We’ll see from the Bible why I and many others believe the Church of today is indeed; Funky, when it should be Spiritual! But, like always, we must ask for the “HOLY SPIRIT’S” guardians! One of the biggest problems I find with most Pastors and their member’s is this; they don’t seem to know who the church belongs too. Most Pastors think the Church belongs to them, and their members believe because they have help to build the Church, they say, “man” I’m shareholder in this Church. But, both the Pastors and the Members have seemed to forget that JESUS said: “…upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” MATTHEW 16:18. The Devil knows what the Bible said, but, still he’s working through the unconverted Pastor and Members, and what’s the result of his working? The church and the world are running side by side. But, JESUS give us the assurance, that “the gates of hell shall not prevail against” HIS Church. And to that I say, Amen! This is why JESUS said: “…when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” LUKE 22:32.But, most of the Churches today no-longer want to “strengthen the brethren,” because they are entertaining the brethren. So today, the world has their “Grammy Awards,” The church has their “Marlin Awards.” The world and the church are singing, Rap, Reggie, R&B, Junkanoo, Rake & Scrape, Pop/Rock, Hip/hop, Calysopo/Soca, Contemporary Gospel and Jazz. If you don’t believe its true, just turn your radio to these so-call “Christian radio stations” and listen to it for yourself, and if you are one who used to go out dancing, it won’t be long before you start dancing once again, so when you listen to these so-called Gospel radio stations you better be, in the Spirit. As a matter of fact, there’s a new radio station on the air-waves, it’s called “Joy FM,” but I believe GOD calls it, “SAD FM.” When this station came on the air-waves there were Pastors who put their stamp of approval on this station. The question is Pastors, if you were to be asked, all these months later, would you still say it’s a good radio station for GOD’S children to listen to? But this station is not alone, we also have ZNS 1540AM, who also plays a cross-section of so-call gospel music. Christian Friends, when I talk to people in the world about our so new-style gospel-music, they say, these gospel radio station don’t play Christian music, because the same beats, rhythms, and dance, that’s in these so-call gospel music, are on, 100 JAMZ, 104.5 FM, MORE 94.9 FM & 102.9 Island FM. The only differences are you hear the name of JESUS called on these so-call Gospel Stations. What’s the problem; you ask? Well, the Pastors of today are trying to preach the gospel in an unknown- tongue, when they should-be preaching the gospel in a known-tongue. Now these unfaithful Pastors have the gospel on hold, and are afraid “To Call Sin; By its Right Name.” The sad result is, we, the Christians, are “Reaping The Whirlwind.” As a matter of fact, the Bible says we are: “…lovers of our own selves…” And the only thing we have left is: “…a form of godliness...” 2 TIMOTHY 3:1-5. Forgetting that the Bible said: “For [you and] I [should] not [be] ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it [the gospel] is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” ROMANS 1:16. Friends the Bible did not say: “Let this “flesh” be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” but it does say: Let this “mind” be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” PHILIPPIANS 2:5. The Bible does not say: “be conformed to this world” it said: “be not conformed to this world” how about: “be ye transformed by the renewing of your flesh.” No, no, no it said: “be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” ROMANS 12:2. A new heart also will I give you, [says JESUS] and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. The question is; do we want A NEW HEART? DO WE? Or will we continue to: “enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season???” Which will it be; A NEW HEART? Or Sin; and its Pleasures???
