Last week, our “The Liquor-Sellers” and “The Law-Makers,” were all asked, “TO REPENT!” The question is, did they? You see friends; none of our “The Liquor-Sellers” nor our “The Law-Makers, “can blind themselves to the terrible results of what drinking of alcohol has, and is causing! As a result of alcohol, there is hardly not a family upon the earth, who as not being affected directly or indirectly! But still, today those who are responsible for this evil appear to be turning a blind eye to what is really taking place! Friends, they may wash their hands as did Pilate, (when he said “I find no fault in this man.” Lu.23:4) but they, “The Liquor-Sellers” and “The Law-Makers,” will not be clean from the blood of souls who drank alcohol! They will give account; to GOD! For there was a time under the sun when Law-Makers said it was wrong, and if you where caught with alcohol you would have been arrested. For example, the Twenty-first Amendment) to the United States Constitution repealed the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which had mandated nationwide Prohibition! Prohibition in the United States was the period between 1920-1933 when the entire country outlawed the manufacture, transportation, import, export, and sale of alcoholic beverages—that is, liquor, wine or beer. It also includes the prohibition of alcohol by state action at different times, and the social-political movement to secure prohibition. At no time was possession of or drinking of liquor, wine or beer illegal. But thank GOD; there are still some States listening to the voice of GOD! These States are called “dry county,” whose law-makers forbids the sale of alcoholic beverages. But, the sad realty is friends, those States which have turned off the voice of GOD are paying a great price! A price of about 202 billion dollars each year, because of alcohol. On the 19^th of August, 2006 Mayo Clinic reported that “each year more than 100,000 Americans died of alcohol-related causes and alcohol is a factor in nearly half of all U.S traffic deaths.” That means about every 10 days alcohol kills as many people as the September 11 attacks! How sad friends! But if you and I were to listen to the news, the world leaders are saying to us that, the “TERRORIST is going to destroy the world if WE don’t stop them!” While millions; of our Fathers, Mothers, Sisters and Brothers are dieing each year, not from ‘terrorism, but alcohol.’ If the USA were to divide those 202 billon dollars between 300,000 of us Bahamians, each one of US would get a total of $673.333.33. Know wonder JESUS said: “For the poor always ye have with you…” JOHN 12:8. “Wherefore (said the prophet Isaiah” do ye spend money for [that which is] not bread? and your labour for [that which] satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye [that which is] good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.” ISAIAH 55:2. Friends, those who engage in the liquor business are not ignorant of the numberless ways in which it results in degradation, misery, poverty, cruelty, and death. This fact can be backed-up by some of the things these Liquor-Sellers say about themselves! They say things like: “if you drink don’t drive.” If you go out for a drink; always take a driver that doesn’t drink. Friends don’t let friends drive drunk! When will you have had too much? You can’t calculate your alcohol limit! It takes less than you might think to become a drunk driver! But wait friends; there’s yet another blasphemous ad, that run in The Nassau Guardian, Friday, April 21, 2006 which said: “Best Deal$ FOR EASTER” and this ad wasn’t talking about “JESUS, The SON of the living GOD” but ‘RUM.’ At the bottom of this ad it said: Best Choices, Best Deals!” What a say commentary! At the every bottom of the ad it said: “PLEASE DRINIK RESPONSIBLY.” Surely Satan himself was the master mind behind this ad. For EASTER and CHRISTMAS is one of the high points for the Christian world! It is also a time for much drinking of alcohol! For Satan well knows friends, that all who die with alcohol in their system will be in hell fire with him and his angels. For the Bible says: No “…drunkards…shall inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 CORINTHIANS 6:10. Whose side are you on friend? If you are on the LORD side, then say, and do so!!!
