If the church would lift high the standards of GOD, no one would ever have to ask, is “The Church; Spiritual or Funky?” But, because “The Church; is doing Funky stuff” this question has to be asked, and by all means, answered truthfully! Last week I ended by telling you that Pastor Dave Burrows, of Bahamas Faith Ministries, told Mr. Wendell Jones, that: ‘we are living in a scary time, and that the Churches are seemly out of touch with what is happening with our young people,’ he also said, ‘what has developed in the country is a negative culture.’ And I closed by asking this question: “could it be that, Pastor Dave Burrows also is contributing to that same negative culture? Today, I will share why I believe that he is! If you were watching ZNS TV news a few weeks ago you would have notes that Bahamas Faith Ministries (BFM,) ran to difference commercials for two difference youth events that took place at their Church. When I was watching the commercials I said to myself this has to be a joke, this will never take place, because what I saw, was not something JESUS would do with the young people that HE LOVED and who HE gave HIS life for. So, my friends and I said we will go and check these events out. Christian friends, it was almost on the same level of the worldly events. As a matter of fact, one of the members of the Church who knows me told one of the security guards not to let me in. As I stood on the out side of the church, I saw car after car pull up and drop off their young Boys and Girls, to this so-call Christian event. When my friend and I went on the inside we were greeted with the sounds of shouting, drums, music, and dancing. Some of the Young girls were dressed just like the girls in the world. Some even had their breasts expose. Some of the young ladies Pants where so tight, it was if they had to grease to put them on. One of the young men told me what it was like the year before, and what he told me, was not good. But was this event stamped with approve of GOD? A few weeks later when my friend and I return to (BFM,) Youth Alive Concert it was worse than the first one we attended. The first thing we were greeted with was the loud music. So loud was the music, we could hear if form the parking lot. When we walk into the entrances of the Church, it was like walking into the entrances of one of our disco-techs. And to make matters worse the young lady were dressed, just like the girls on the streets. When we got to the desk to buy our tickets, one of the young ladies who were colleting the money had on a top, which was exposing some parts of her breasts. But when Pastor Burrows was on the radio show he said: “He adhere strictly to Biblical standards, for example, I don’t care what kind of clothes you wear as long as you cover yourself, so if a young lady comes in and all her breast is hinging out and her stomach is out, or what ever, that’s a standard that I believe that goes against biblical standards, biblical standards say, dress modestly” he said. Well, I guess he did not see the lady at the deck. When we got on the inside the music was so loud, my friend and I had to speak into each other ears when we wanted to talk about what was taking place. Friends believe me, the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD was not there for HE would never put HIS stamp of approve upon what was taking place. Satan was in charged, and because of this, the young men and women were shouting and dancing to the music, of the rapping rappers, and the reggae sounds. One young lady had a baby on her shoulder as she got up to dance to the sounds of the Junkanoo music. Young men and women were heard screaming to the top of their voices for their favorite performer. One of the performers was sweating so much; he used our Bahamian Flag to wipe the sweated from his face. The Gyrations by the performers and the young people were so wild; it was like having sex with your clothes on. One question came to my mind as I witness what was taking place. Parents, did you know what your Kids were being exposed too? I hope not! If you did Parents, you, the Pastors and leadership of BFM should be arrested for child abuse, and mental cruelty. These two Concerts were NASTY, ONE and TWO! And if anyone says other wise, GOD will surly hold them accountable. For the Bible says: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus!!!”
