“The Church; Spiritual or Funky?” Is not a question that should be taken lightly! For over 2000 years ago, ‘the Saviour of all men’ hang between Heaven and Earth, ‘on a tree,’ for HIS Church. This is why the Bible says: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also ‘loved the church,’ and gave himself for ‘it;’ That he might sanctify and cleanse ‘it’ with the washing of water by the word, That he might present ‘it’ to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be ‘holy’ and “without blemish.” EPHESIANS 5:25-27. Yet, some of US will read those words, and our ‘actions’ remain the same! How sad! In 1907 Ellen G. White penned these words: “I have been shown that the Spirit of the Lord is being withdrawn from the earth. God's keeping power will soon be refused to ‘all’ who continue to disregard His ‘commandments.’ The reports of fraudulent transactions, murders, and crimes of every kind are coming to us daily. Iniquity is becoming so common a thing that it no longer shocks the senses as it once did.” Surly, based on the ‘actions’ of the Church, and the world, those days in which she was ‘shown’ are here. If you don’t believe this to be true, then let US take a look at our daily news papers from last week, which run from, Monday, July 17, 2006 to Saturday July 22, 2006. On Monday, the headlines said: ‘Search for businessman,’ ‘Gov’t In Land Row,’ ‘Anger in Elizabeth Estates,’ and ‘Trial Scheduled to begin into Murder of Grand Bahaman Man.’ Tuesday’s headlines said: ‘Sex claims against Pastor,’ ‘Bomb threat at Customs Warehouse,’ ‘Local businessman fears for family in middle East crisis,’ ‘Second claim of money missing from account at scotiabank branch,’ ‘Girl tells of sex with Bishop,’ and ‘Ingraham lashes out.’ Wednesday’s headlines said: ‘Port Authority to be sued,’ ‘Prisoner on the loose,’ ‘Undocumented Haitians set to be sent home today,’ ‘Pair charged with murder,’ ‘Slain former police officer ‘had asked for protection,’ ‘$50,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of businessman,’ ‘Child Protection council ‘remains committed,’ ‘Sixty Dominicans held for poaching,’ and ‘Land rights wrangle.’ Thursday’s headlines said: ‘More illegals caught at sea,’ ‘Fuel-efficient cars pushed,’ ‘Bahamasair Jets Grounded,’ ‘Fears grow of bird flu spread,’ ‘PM Explains Reasons for Opposition Boycott of Airport renaming,’ ‘Businessman Found Dead,’ ‘NEMA funds have yet to be accounted for,’ ‘Reports of attack on key witness in sex case unfounded,’ and ‘Passengers are stranded as Bahamasair flight delayed indefinitely.’ Friday’s headlines said: ‘OPBAT Officials seize marijuana from speed boat,’ ‘Murdered man’s Mother first witness in high profile case,’ ‘Bahamasair Boss says business as usual,’ ‘Fisherman black market,’ ‘Police yet to give statement on identity of body,’ ‘Fire destroy pre-school building,’ and ‘Bank moves to stop fraud.’ Saturday’s headlines said: ‘Man killed in fight,’ ‘Woman killed in house fire,’ ‘Businessman is confirmed Dead,’ ‘Pastor is charged with manslaughter,’ ‘Bahamasair flights delayed once again,’ ‘Murder count rises to 27,’ ‘Priest in hospital after escaping rectory fire,’ and ‘Tourist claims she was raped.’ Friends, the headlines of today are fulfilling Bible prophecy, but our ‘actions’ say we don’t care! And because of this, the GOD of heaven told the prophet Jeremiah to penned these words: “Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: Fear ye not me? saith the LORD… this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone. Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence …? For among my people are found wicked [men]: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men… Shall I not visit for these [things]? A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love [to have it] so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?” JEREMIAH 5:21-31.
