The Church; Spiritual or Funky? Pt.9

As the world continues to ‘wax worse and worse,’ so also is the church. And it’s based on this, that after 9 weeks, the question remains the same, “The Church; Spiritual or Funky?” Friends, this is not the time for us to be acting ‘Funky.’ When see ‘nation rising against nations, and kingdom against kingdoms…’ we should be: “Examining ourselves, (to see) whether we be in the faith…” 2 CORINTHIANS 13:5. Let us not fool ourselves friends; if we remain ‘Funky’ at the end of time we will be lost! This is the reason John the revelator penned these words: “Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. (But) Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having (a little wrath? No) great wrath, (why?) because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” REVELATION 12:12. Question; how short, is a short time? Is 6000 years a short time? No my friends; I’m sure you would agree with me, that, 6000 years is not a short time! The ‘short time’ I believe the LORD JESUS is talking about here is this, from the time you and I have excepted JESUS as our SAVIOUR, to the time we die, or when JESUS returns for ‘HIS SAINTS,’ is a short time! For some; it would be like the theft on the cross, moments after giving their lives to JESUS they could be dead, for some it could be weeks, months or years, but what ever group we find are selves in, we could be sure, the devil will be on our tracks every step of the way. “Wherefore, (says the apostle Paul) awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore (says Paul) be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [is].” EPHESIANS 5:14-17. Question is, do ‘we’ understanding what the ‘will’ of the Lord [is]? If ‘we’ don’t! Our life and the lives of our love-ones are at stake. “For whosoever (says JESUS) shall do the ‘will’ of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.” MARK 5:35. David said: “I delight to do thy ‘will,’ O my God: yea, thy ‘law’ [is] within my heart.” PSALMS 40:8. The ‘WILL of GOD’ is the ‘LAW of GOD!’ This is why the apostle Paul said: “…for by the ‘law’ [is] the knowledge of sin.” ROMANS 3:20. And it is for this reason JESUS: “…fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this “cup” pass from me (says JESUS): nevertheless not as I ‘will,’ but as thou [wilt].” MATTHEW 26:39. What was it; about that ‘cup’ that JESUS asks HIS FATHER if it be possible let it pass from HIM? It was the “suffering and punishment” for you and I. Thank GOD; our saviour fulfilled the Father’s will and not HIS own, AMEN! And it’s because of Him: “…we live, and move, and have our being…” ACTS 17:28. In other words; if it wasn’t for JESUS, where would we be? We would be; ‘DEAD!’ “Know ye that the LORD he [is] God: (says David) [it is] he [that] hath made us, and not we ourselves; [we are] his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” PSALMS 100:3. So, with Holy boldness and with the rebuke from heaven David penned these words: “Blessed [is] the man (or woman) that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” PSALMS 1:1. But how many of us, are following this counsel today? Did you notice those three powerful words, walking, standing and sitting? Those three words were given to guard us against the works of the devil. How’s that you ask? When ever the bible tells us not to do something, and we say within ourselves we are going to do it anyway, this is when we fine ourselves, walking… standing… or sitting… where we were told form the Word of GOD not to be! We may have gotten there by car, boat, plane, or bicycle… but when we got there, we still had to walk. Friends; if we follow the counsel of the ungodly we are going in the general direction of those who are alien to God, by conforming to worldly customs. If we are standing or stopping to associate with rebels under the spell of sin, playing around with temptation and joining a group of sinners, who are settling down in disregard of light of GOD’S word, be assured, our sins will find us out. Today; let us avoids associating with evil-doers, and associate with the light of the world, JESUS!!!
